America Reaffirms Support For Education

Two recently completed schools built by the United States Agency for International Development [USAID] in- Pakistan's Sukkur district were inaugurated by-

USAID Deputy Mission Director Denise A. Herbol.

The newly built schools include the Government High School, Dadanko and the Government Girls' Primary School, Numaish Colony, which was constructed with the support of the-

US government through the- US$155 million USAID  :
Sindh Basic Education Programme [SBEP]

''We are proud to be able to contribute to the future of children of this province.  I am sure in future these students will be change makers for Pakistan, advancing mutual respect and tolerance,'' Herbal said during one of the ceremonies.

Adding : *that the young people are the future of Pakistan and for this reason, educational assistance to the country's youth is one of the US government's top priorities.*

Under the  SBEP, the  USAID has planned to build 106 modern schools in eight districts of Sindh, Pakistan, of which 23 schools has been completed.

The project aims to increase and sustain student enrollment in primary, middle and secondary public schools in selected areas of the province, with a special focus on bringing back children who have dropped out of schools.

In addition to constructing schools, the SBEP also supports the government's reforms in education.
