8 is the record for the must number of world records held by a................  female swimmer-

With the incredible feat's owner being Sweden Sarah Sjostrom.

Sweden's Sarah Sjöström set new records in women's 100m and 50m freestyle in Moscow, clocking a time of 50.77 seconds and 23.10secs respectively.

The 23-year-old Sjöström was competing at the recent world championships in Budapest (July-August), where she won three gold medals.

She was named Female Swimmer of the Meet, tallying 22 points beating Katie Ledecky who claimed 18 points.

Sjöström is also the world-record holder in long-course 50m and 100m butterfly, and short-course 100m butterfly and 200m freestyle.
