Students Protests, Shutdown In Kashmir After Clashes With Government Forces

Kashmir, August 9 - University Students in Tral protested against the killings of three rebels and a civilian during an encounter with the security forces.

Business and educational institutes remained closed, mobile and internet services suspended in the city of Tral, Indian Administered Kashmir after three rebels were killed in encounter with government forces and then a teenager Mohammad Younis, also died as forces fired on protesters who were denouncing the killings.

Islamic University Science and Technology (IUST) students briefly boycotted classes and marched inside the campus chanting of pro-freedom slogans and holding posters of student rebel Burhan Wani who was killed last year.
