HONORS HOUR '''




*HELP UNIVERSITY*  IS THE ONLY UNIVERSITY in the world, to have a 2+1 articulation programme with the *University of Queensland*.

In 2016 alone,  74 business students  have transferred to University of Queensland,  out of which 15  students were awarded scholarships. 

One of  HELP's most distinguished alumni, Dr. Kelvin Tan Jui Keng, recently wrote back to share some exciting news about his progress as an academic at the  world-ranked  University of Queensland.

Dr. Kelvin was promoted to senior lecturer in  Finance  at the University of Queensland Business School and was awarded the 2016   *Early Career Researcher Excellence*   in Research Award   at the UQ   Faculty of Business, Economics and Law.

He completed his Diploma in Business with Distinction at HELP in 2004, and he then went to UQ to complete his Bachelor of Commerce [Finance] where he graduated with a  First Class Honours. 

He then joined the UQ's faculty of Business School after completing his PhD.

His work has been published in A-ranked academic and practitioners journals, such as the  Journal of Corporate Finance. 

Two of his papers have also been recognised as the  Best Papers at both the European Real Estate Society Conference and the 6th Behavioural Finance Conference.

HELP is privileged to have a close relationship with The University of Queensland, which is a member of the Group of 8 Universities [Go8] in Australia, a coalition of leading universities there.

During  HELP's  30 Anniversary Celebration, University of Queensland presented a  ''30th Anniversary HELP-UQ Bursary'' worth AUDollars 10,000 in honour of-

Datuk Dr. Paul Chan and Datin Chan-Low Kam Yoke, to commemorate the 30 year of excellence and the long-standing relationship between UQ and HELP.

Student Tiffany Tan Wen Hui was the recipient of this bursary which will help contribute towards her living expenses.
She said she was honoured and privileged to win this bursary, and it was the greatest achievement in her life.

Apart from this bursary she was also awarded a partial scholarship to complete her Bachelor of Commerce programme at UQ.     

Recently, HELP two scholarship winners  Students Cheong Min and Carmen Chan Sze Ern, who are now studying at the University of Queensland together with their course mate Jay Chai Li, won the third prize in the UQ Malaysian Students' Association Think Tank Competition.

They formed a team called  C^3 and chose their business case study topic on Food Management, and how mismanagement of food can cause long term damage to the environment. 

The business case competition, Think Tank 2016, was organized by The University of Queensland's Malaysian Students Association [UQMSA] in collaboration with Australia Malaysia Business Council Queensland [AMBCQ], and UQ Idea Hub [a start-up pre-incubator which is an initiative of UQ

The Faculty of Business, Economics and Accounting of HELP strongly encourages students to take part in numerous accounting, finance,  and case competitions.

Students are given close guidance by lecturers, and are encouraged to work in groups and learn from each other and from their seniors. the skills acquired during the preparation for these competition are valuable for students as they will have a competitive edge when they begin their careers.

HELP is renowned for its business, accounting,  and finance programmes, and its graduates are well received by many multinational companies. Its graduates are able to secure employment within six months of graduation.

The Faculty of Business, Economics and Accounting at  HELP is one of the largest  Business Schools in the region, and its  Bachelor of Business [Accounting]  {Honours}  degree is recognised by three international professional accounting bodies.

For STPM and UEC graduates who are interested to pursue a business accounting or finance degree,  HELP University  provides a 30% waiver on tuition fees for  STPM  graduates and a  25% waiver on tuition fees for UEC graduates.

HELP also provides various scholarships to outstanding students who have displayed excellent leadership and academic results.
