USA Wins Women's World Cup

Carli Lloyd, No. 10, celebrates the second U.S. goal with teammates.

USA win their third Women's World Cup title outclassing defending champions Japan 5-2 in final.

Carli Lloyd scored fastest hat-trick, 13 mins, in the highest scoring women's final.

The match was repeat of the 2011 final, which Japan won on penalties but this time their opponents were sharper and stronger while the Nadeshiko lacked the vigour in defending as USA raced to 4-0 lead in 16 minutes.

Japan pulled two goals back but the hopes of a comeback lasted for a moment as USA struck another within the hour.
