Chilean Students Protest Corruption Scandals


Thousands of students from Chile’s largest student movement will launch protests in favor of education reform and against political corruption.
Chilean students will take to the streets of Santiago on Thursday in defense of education reform as a legislative proposal they support is currently being discussed in Congress.
The government of Michelle Bachelet has committed to providing universal higher education by 2016 in response to massive student protests over the last few years demanding serious reforms to the country's education system.
The demonstrations, which are being organized by the Confederation of Chilean Students (FECH), will also march against the recent corruption scandals that have rocked the nation.
