Nigeria: 70 Percent of Students Fail Natioanal Examination


Less than a third of Nigerian Students passed the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) held nationally.

The National Examinations Council (NECO) released the results showing that 30.57 percent of the candidates passed at credit level in five major subjects including mathematics and English language.

It is an improvement from the 2013 result which recorded 28.62 percent passing rate but the country has a long way to go and has to fasten the progress in its educational standards.
