Parents feeling student loan debt burden

US: 94% of parents say they think their personal burden for their kids’ college student loan debt is increasing, survey.

The Citizens Financial Group surveyed 5,000 American parents of college students ages 18 to 24.

More than half of parents said they were very likely or somewhat likely to help out with their kids’ student loan payments, according to a survey released by Discover Student Loans in June.

But 54% of parents also worried that their own retirement will be affected by their child’s student loan debt, the Citizens survey revealed.
