The weather really is rearing its ugly head: Wave that looks like a bearded man

A spooky face is created by the spray from a

wave hitting the cobb at Lyme Regis, Dorset in

this lucky shot

This picture of a wave crashing against the shore shows how the weather really has reared its ugly head.
It was taken by photographer Simon Emmett in Lyme Regis, Dorset, yesterday, but it was only after he looked at the image again that he realised it had formed the shape of a bearded man.
He was out taking pictures of the ferocious seas as they battered the cobb along the seaside resort.

Much of southern England has been hit by terrible storms with severe weather warnings in place for large parts of the region.
Fourteen thousand homes have been left without power in southwest England as winds of up to 80mph battered southern areas of Britain and Wales.
Forecasters are warning that torrential rain and gale force winds could bring travel disruption and flooding to coastal areas over the next few days.
The Met Office has issued a severe weather warning, with southern and western areas most at risk.
Severe gales and downpours hit the area last night with the heavy rain likely to continue into the weekend.
Strong winds will hit southern areas today  and people living in coastal areas are also being warned of possible flooding and are urged to avoid venturing close to the sea.
